Join us on Friday 18th May 2018 for our "Spotlight on Public Health in Sunderland" event.

This event is open to all (including schools, students, academic staff and practitioners). Registration will be available for morning and/or afternoon sessions. Places are free but must be booked.

 

Morning Session 10:00-12:15 (Primary audience: Schools, Colleges and Students)

•Find out what public health involves and learn about some of the health improvement initiatives going on in your area
•Take part in group activities on “mobile health” and participate in health testing and screening
•Learn about the University’s public health courses and research

 Afternoon session 13:00-16.15 (Primary audience: Students, Academic staff, Public Health Practitioners)

Keynote Speaker 13.00-13.30: Sharon Hodgson, MP - Shadow Minister for Public Health

•Find out about innovative local public health policy, services and initiatives
•Network with other academics and practitioners and take advantage of opportunities for collaboration and knowledge translation.
•Hear about some of the local, national and international public health research taking place at the University of Sunderland.

•Live Life Well – smoking/alcohol advice; sexual health awareness; free screening session; practical health testing
