Researchers at Northumbria University have organised a dissemination event in collaboration with their practice partners, Citizens Advice Gateshead, to share the findings of their recent study. The study ‘Exposing the impact of Citizens Advice Bureau services on health: a realist evaluation” has found important impacts of intense advice services on client’s stress and wellbeing. The study also highlighted the importance of Citizens Advice staffs’ non-judgmental and impartial approach, which created a trusting and therefore safe environment for clients. The study designed a bespoke questionnaire for Citizens Advice to use in order to capture the impact they have on client’s health. This questionnaire is now being used in practice, and the feasibility of ongoing use is being investigated. The study findings and long term impact of the questionnaire will be described in full at the dissemination event, alongside national and local speakers from Citizens Advice.
