This is a permanent and pensionable appointment and new entrants will normally start on the minimum of the pay range. Our role includes ensuring that information and advice on food safety and standards, nutrition and labelling is independent, consistent, evidence-based and consumer-focused. Our primary concern is consumer protection – making sure that food is safe to eat, ensuring consumers know what they are eating and improving nutrition. With that in mind, our vision is to deliver a food and drink environment in Scotland that benefits, protects and is trusted by consumers.The purpose of these Public Health Nutrition Advisor posts is to provide expert nutrition support as part of the Nutrition Science and Policy branch. This team has a remit to collect and analyse data about diet in Scotland, building and sharing the science and evidence base to inform dietary policy development.
