Fuse provides evidence for PHE weight loss and management guidance

Fuse has had a prominent role in developing new guidance for the delivery and commissioning of services to help adults to manage their weight loss.

The guidance provides relevant, evidence-based behaviour change techniques for use in weight management services, based on recommendations from National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) guidance and evidence from large systematic reviews.

This is a supplementary document to the Public Health England (PHE) Guide to Delivering and Commissioning Tier 2 Adult Weight Management Services.

The guidance was prepared by Fuse Senior Investigator Falko Sniehotta, Professor in Behaviour Medicine and Health Psychology.  Systematic review evidence was provided by Professsor Sniehotta and Fuse associate Dr Vera Araujo-Soares, Senior Lecturer in Health Psychology, both from Newcastle University. ‌
