Senior Dietary Assessment Specialist - University of Cambridge

This opportunity is part of a new research theme funded through the NIHR Cambridge Biomedical Research Centre which aims to investigate the role of diet, nutrition and lifestyle factors in the causes of disease and provide evidence for prevention. The theme involves establishing a coordinated measurement platform for robust assessment of diet, nutrition and physical activity to provide expertise and capacity in this specialist area to support multiple research groups working in the UK and internationally.
The post-holder will lead and shape the vision for the dietary assessment platform, developing a portfolio of specialist dietary assessment activities and identifying opportunities for development and enhancing best practice in the field.
Applicants should be educated to degree level (or equivalent) in nutrition or a related scientific discipline. A higher degree/PhD is desirable but not essential. Applicants will have specialist knowledge and skills in diet and nutritional assessment and substantial experience in dietary assessment methodologies, their uses and application in a variety of research.

The role is based in the MRC Epidemiology Unit which is a department of the School of Clinical Medicine at the University of Cambridge.
